Records

Ground Records are best performances by St George athletes at Olds Park. The results are as recorded by manual timing (HT) or electronic timing (ET). Electronic timing uses timing gates. Photo finish is not used for ground records.

Centre Records are best performances by athletes selected to represent St. George or the Little Athletics Association at Championship competitions. The results are as recorded by manual timing (HT) or electronic timing (ET). Known locations are shown by the letters Z = Zone, R = Region, S = State, SR = State Relay, SME = State Multi-Event, TTT = Trans Tasman Trial, TTC = Trans Tasman Challenge and ALAC = Australian Little Athletics Championship. Centre records that are shown as electronic timing (ET) are set using electronic timing gates with photo finish. Electronic timed (ET) results are shown in LANSW championship results to the nearest 0.01 second. Hand timed (HT) results for an event are shown to the nearest 0.1 second.

Records will be recognized in the following manner:

Track Events: The times are to be verified by the Track Referee. If for any reason this is not done, then a record will be acknowledged if the three times recorded imply a record and the recording sheet is signed by two timekeepers.
Field Events: The performance is to be verified by the Field Referee. If the Referee is not present on the night then a Chief of another area can verify the record. Field chiefs are to request officials not to "spike" trials performed by their own children.

ALL RECORDS are verified by the Officer for Records and Rankings (Recorder) before becoming official or being announced.

Although Centre Records have been recorded for the Walk event, no recent Ground Records have been recorded due to the lack of regular Walk Judges on Friday nights.

These records have been checked from past Handbooks, Annual Reports, computerised Records results and LAANSW results and most dates are now included.
Some adjustments were required after checking historical data.
For clarity, events no longer contested have been removed and are held on computer and hard copy.
